Get hands on with Heritage

May 30, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

FREE

The Tamar Trails were developed as part of the Tamar Valley Mining Heritage Project, celebrating the story of the Tamar Valley’s mining heritage through a network of trails and paths.

Everywhere there is evidence of remains of deep, dark mines and hardworking communities.

Follow our Free podcast trail* to discover the hidden heritage of the Tamar Valley. Collect a MP3 player and map from the Tamar Trails Centre and find out more about the mining industry from varying points around the trails. There will also be children’s activities at each of the stops!

The miners of old in this area were all looking for treasure. The original miners on site were looking for copper, but many of them took their skills around the world to mine for gold and other treasures. The Tamar Trails continues that tradition with a modern twist offering treasure hunts for children. Pop in to the Trails Centre to collect your instructions!!

*Please note: we have limited availability of MP3 players and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. MP3 files can be downloaded from tamartrails.co.uk/maps on to your own devices before arriving at the Tamar Trails Centre, to avoid disappointment
