Tin Smelted Tamar Treasures: Age range 11 plus
Session 1 10am -11am
Session 2 11am-12noon
Working with local Jeweller and Head of Jewellery at Plymouth College of Art- Maria Whetman:
Use casting sand, designing and molten tin to make small metal tokens and treasures, to your own designs, using metals that were once found in the Cornish Mining Heritage Sites and heritage metal casting processes.
Each workshop is for 1 hour, and is limited to 8 students. All students must be accompanied by an adult.

Ceramics with Copper Oxide; Age range 5-12
Session time; 14.00-15.30
Working with local ceramic artist, Rosie Fierek, make 2 stoneware tiles using impressions of leaves and natural forms from the Tamar Valley, and exclusive letter and design templates from Rosie’s collection.
They will be taken for firing and returned to school for copper oxide decoration and glazing
We will ask that, once they are glazed and fired again, you choose one tile to take home, and one tile to be left to be permanently exhibited at Tamar Trails in a group display.
Please arrive at 13.30, in order to collect leaves and natural materials from Tamar Trails outdoor spaces. This will not be supervised
All participants must be accompanied by an adult.
Workshops are free and are sponsored by Cornish Mining World Heritage and Golden Tree.

Parents/carers only need to book a ticket for each child. Adults must accompany, but do not need a ticket.
