Tamar Valley Health Walk

Tamar Trails

Join the Walking for Health group to explore the Tamar Valley and get active. Walk from the Tamar Trails car park to Chimney Rock Length approx. more than 2 hours. Enjoy a circular walk using the Tamar Trails network, passing mine workings and getting wonderful views across the valley into Cornwall. Approx 2 hours or more, one gradual uphill section along well maintained paths. Refreshments available at the Beech Cafe, Tamar Trails afterwards. Strimming, bramble cutting and branch lopping. Trail clearance and small drainage projects. We shall be practicing felling small trees with handtools, using safe cutting techniques and gathering up the resulting dead wood from the Tavistock Woodlands Estate. Come along and earn your share!   • Opening Times

    The Beech Cafe is open every day from 10am, except Mondays when we are closed. When the cafe is open bike hire and tramper hire are also available.

    The Trails are open every day, dawn till dusk.

    Canoe trips will start again in spring 2019

    Tree Surfers activities and archery are open every weekend and every school holiday, until the end of October 2018.
